“ Faith is walking full-speed into the dark.” -Elizabeth Gilbert

“So now I’ve started living my own life. Imperfect and clumsy as it may look, it is resembling me now thoroughly.”

I am continually amazed how Spirit works. Outside of the should there is a sense of knowing something is coming is my gage for what I need to do now in the present moment. Like a leaf falling from an Oak tree, a message from Spirit drifts into an open mind. What do I need to course correct? Or what is my next right action? Spirit is like the MUSE directing words and information that float into my consciousness out of the ethos. Spirit or God or the Universe is the great Master Artist I believe behind all the machinations of our soul. Many ask me what happens in the moment that we die? Or how can there really be a Great Source, or God that would allow for bad things to happen? I get it. I really do. I am wandering around in the dark asking that question a lot myself. Between fires, floods, hurricanes, and mass shootings baring down on us in the daily news, we may all be feeling that beast of FEAR in our bellies. We want the fear thoughts about all the terrifying things going on tin the World to STOP! I think that most of all we want some balance of Peace. We Want some reassurance that we could live in a World where freedom and peace, love and harmony could so-exist. So how then can we stop the fearful thoughts and worries? And where is the Divine in all of this?

As someone who believes that God lives within all of us, I also believe that those that deliberately do harm are operating under their own free will to do so. It is these people who have lost their sense of right and wrong and the enormity of the consequences of their personal actions. Every step of the way they are making a choice. So conversely are we. We can choose peace, love, and meeting others where they are with the courage to be our truest selves. We don’t have to live in the land of but what if? We can embrace our strength to live “one day at a time”, marveling at the good things in our lives. We can choose hope. We can be the forerunners, the light-workers, giving space for those who have lost children, friends husbands and wives. We can give out love in any way we can however we can , as often as we can. Where do we start to feel Peace? And how can we erase fears of the what-ifs? Much like the serenity prayer—one conscious thought at a time—One day at a time. Like the song goes, “Let there be peace on Earth, and let it begin with me…” It begins with our faith and belief in what is possible, and asking for help from our higher power to bring us into divine right-order. We must have the courage to keep waking up to the sunlight, day after day, and do our personal best to make a difference.

On a good day, I try to live my life this way. I ask for the next right action, and for the highest and best for myself, my family, and for this Nation, and the World. Today, I sat outside on a peaceful, beautiful early Fall day, and I was inspired to look up. The sky was a brilliant blue, the Sun was shining, and the horizon was dotted by white puffy clouds. As I gazed upward a hawk flew up above, reminding me that answers most always come by being more objective, going to a place of gratitude, and releasing unwanted emotions. Like the swell of the huge ocean, the tides come in and go out. Letting go of our fears about what might happen next, can be difficult at best. But over and over I am reminded: “Let go, and TRUST! Have that faith, that with courage, our lives have a way of working out in divine right order, and the old grandfather clock ticking away, in the divine timing.

This Classroom Called Life

This Classroom Called Life

You can look back say over the last 5 years of your life, and reflect on all the choices that have brought you to the point in time that you find yourself at now.

Today is April 11th, 2017, and Spring is finally upon us. Ahhh…. we may have just gotten a taste of warmer weather, but just the idea of a change in seasons is enough to refresh your mind and spirit. It does mine. We are given a hopeful feeling that the dark, colder days of winter are edging behind us, and that warm weather will make for happier feelings, and an array of options for getting outside.

In the classroom called Life, we are given lessons I believe. You might ask yourself 'why?'. Why did x,y,z happen to me? Why did I lose my job, or, why can’t I find my ideal calling in life? Why haven’t I met the perfect partner, or when oh when, will I be able to afford to live a life without worry and fear? You know that dread feeling, anticipating worst-case scenarios, always feeling fearful of the next bend in the road.

What choices have brought you here to this time, this moment, this day? Let’s start with now, and look at everything as a clean slate of potentiality before us.

Sometimes we may feel like we are living in a state of suspended animation. We don’t know what we want perhaps, but we know that we want something more than we have right now. We may feel a nudge to go looking on a certain website, or to stop by a new aged shop, drawn to a specific book…. something is nudging us forward giving us hope that we can manifest a more fulfilling and abundant life.

There have been many times in my life when the turn in the road was sparked by walking into the right bookstore. It was like a divine synchronicity was guiding me like a car blinker saying, “turn here.” Or it may have been a book literally falling into my hands however it got here, a talk I was inspired to listen to whether online, or in person, or a gut vibe to stop and listen.

Hard to do in the culture in which we live right?

Just stop, look, and listen like we were trained to do as kids, before walking that crosswalk on our way to school. In my world of working as an Intuitive, people come to me with a question they sometimes don’t even know they are yearning to ask. I believe that whoever comes to me for a reading is looking not only for evidence that their loved ones are still with them, but are they on the right path for themselves? Should I go left or right? Should I have a baby now, get married, is he/she the right person for me? To buy a house, or stay put? You get it. We all want validation, confirmation, or a nod, wink, and a “hello” from the Universe.

Intuitively if we all take time to drop into the present moment we know the answer. Or we may sense in ourselves a resistance. On some level if we are honest with ourselves and slow down long enough we know maybe we need to wait and be in a better place financially before adding another person, place, or thing to our lives.

Where and how do you choose to make your way forward? What do you want to keep?  What better way could you choose for dealing with conflict going into the future?

Take a moment to look at the choices you have made over the past year. What choices felt hard, and forced, and perhaps brought about a reality not of your choosing?

When I look at how far I have come on this journey called life, I will borrow a quote I heard yesterday, “this is the path I was meant to be on. This is the life I was meant to live.”.

Life seems to be a never-ending classroom filled with many hard lessons of discovering our soul’s purpose on this earth plane. I feel sometimes like I was born asking why? Why are things as they are, and yet also why not?

The intuitive spark within me has always seen a possibility of future events that have yet to manifest. Some call it a psychic vision, and some call it imagination. I see sometimes with an artist’s eye where like in a coloring book, the page is lacking in color. Could there be something warm added to a dark and bleak space? And beyond even that, I have always felt the spiritual energy, or vibe of a place (Very helpful in the house hunting department). When you are searching for a home, you want to walk into a place and feel “the vibes,” of a space. Can you imagine yourself living there? What is calling you to this living space? Does it feel like home in your bones? When my family and I were searching for our home, we looked at many houses, within our price range. One walk in the door, and I was usually out the door quickly. My husband would say, “What’s wrong?” ,and I could not give a specific answer. I just knew that something felt off. Well the house we eventually picked isn’t located in the greatest spot, nor does it have a big sprawling lawn, or anything remotely like that. But, from the moment we walked in and looked around, my spirit vibes said, “Yes! We are home.".

Where do you feel most yourself as we SPRING forward? Who encourages you to be the most authentic version of YOU? What can you co-create to improve on all the aspects of your life?

Welcoming Fall And All Of The Changes That It May Bring

Welcoming Fall And All Of The Changes That It May Bring

Finally, the over-bearing heat and humidity is coming to an end and my favorite time of year is rolling in. Fall brings with it an array of brilliant colors as the trees are lush and green and suddenly star to turn yellow, orange, reds, and yet as quickly as they turn they start to fall.

Some people dislike this time of year because they see all too clearly the onset of Winter, cold stark periods of dismal weather and the diminishment of sunlight. And though I will miss the Sun, and the ability to take my Nature walks, there is something about cooler weather and colorful trees that calls to me. The change of seasons can be radiant, but also fleeting. We may long for beach days to go on forever. I love taking walks amid the falling leaves when cooler breezes start to envelop the sky, and as you walk your hair blows around your face and the leaves are lifted up in the air doing their own kind of dance. This is one season where I feel like I can breathe.

And yet, you would have to be a fool not to see what lies ahead! The coming of something else.

Life is like that. Like a dog that can sense a scent from a mile away, we too can sense change. It could be the loss of loved ones, things falling apart, or something new finally coming together.

But in fact it is not all bad. Change is what it is. It is not dressed in something else. It is part of living this life. Children grow up, and become adults and leave the nest. There is a loss there for the parents, but also a freedom in the change it brings forth. A puppy grows into a full-grown dog. But with that change, the dog becomes trained, less rambunctious, and is able to be a nice companion. People age and may not be as agile as they once were, but can still watch the agility of children, and appreciate a time when they too could do all kinds of handstands and flips.

The tree in late Autumn may look empty and bleak. Or it could be that it is just dormant for a time, resting and waiting for the remainder of Winter, and the reawakening of another Spring.

You may be going through changes in your life. Loss of loved ones, and or grown children making it on their own, loss of pets, or a change in circumstances of so many different kinds. It is not all bleak. It is an opening, or a resting time for the next seed to germinate and bloom into a different kind of experience in your life journey. A loss is a transition, not a final act.

In Collete-Baron Reid’s book called “The Map,” she invites us to traverse our inner landscape and see it much as a map. “Close your eyes, and ask yourself: Where am I?” And as you examine your interior landscape you may soon realize you can imagine your “soul” self anywhere. Loss is not a dead-end. It is a feeling of letting go. Fear is also a feeling of what could lay ahead. If we take some time to view our interior landscape we can examine those feelings, and observe that they are real, but as in the analogy of The Map, they are simply a stop-over in a journey through life.

Divine Timing

Divine Timing

Recently, I've had the blessing of experiencing 'divine timing'. Just when I thought I was too scared to connect with more people, and just when I felt like maybe I shouldn't put myself out there as much-I stumbled upon some amazing people.

At just the right time when I was faced with self-doubt, I was able to connect with inspiring entrepreneurs who opened their doors wide open for me to share my gift with them and their community. Through connecting with these extraordinary women, I was able to give some great readings and guidance, and also learn something for myself along the way.

It's truly difficult to put yourself out there, no matter what field of work you are in. The self-doubt and 'Am I good enough?' thoughts creep in, fear sneaks up on us, and especially in my case the 'What if people think I'm crazy?' thoughts are constant. However, by pushing myself to rid my mind of all of the fear talk, and let 'divine timing' in, I have been able to not only boost my self-confidence in the work I am doing, but help others around me that I would have never imagined meeting.

Remember that no matter what challenges you face throughout your journey, if you have the belief in yourself, belief in a higher power, and the willingness to try something new-'divine timing' will be on your side. You will meet new people, create new memories, learn life lessons, and probably help a lot of people along the way.

So, take a walk on the wild side. Believe that there is something higher than yourself guiding you in the right direction, and remove the self-doubt from your mind, body, and soul. My hope is that by you taking a walk on that wild side, that we will connect along our paths. That like I have just experienced in the last few weeks, we will be able to meet and help each other through this journey we call life.

A special thank you to: Erica @ Small Potatoes Crafts & Gifts and Lori @ The Pantry for allowing me to connect with you, share my gift, and connect with your community!

The Grander View

The Grander View

Recently I had the pleasure of visiting Arizona. I had not been out west since I was a very young woman, and had forgotten the sheer vastness of space of the west. You can drive for miles and not see much besides cactus, and scrub brush along the way. I hadn’t been on vacation for a very long time, at least one so far away, and it gave me a lot of perspective on my life, the kind of work that I do serving others’ and feeling a different sense of being in such a boundless place.

It was my very first visit to the Grand Canyon. We went to the Southern Rim. I sat thinking, and reimagining it in my mind’s eye this morning that view. The fence that went around the perimeter of the canyon, and how steep the fall would be. Watching some viewers being brave enough to sit out on the farthest edge beyond the safety net of that fence.
The different colors of the rocks and the grandeur of the sight, the symmetry of the light of a bright afternoon sky. If we looked way down below we could see the river that runs through it, though it looked like a blue/green mirage so far down below.

I have been told in this work of touching in with others’ energies that because I am so sensitive, and such an empath I need to take a step back,(to preserve my own energy,) so that their energy that belongs to each person remains with them, and leaves with them as they go. This is the tricky part. When you tap into the soul energy of another you are feeling, sensing, knowing everything about their soul. Picture only what you would want your Grandmother to know about you. That’s what I see mostly, because I ask to tap into the higher side of life. I set my own boundary, in that way so that I don’t fall into the darker caverns of anyone’s being.
So like the Canyon, there is a fence that makes it safe to view all the facets of the rocks. To see all the colors, and the heights, and depths without falling, or slipping off the edge.

Each of us has this majesty of a grander view within us I believe if we are willing to let ourselves go there. If we are able to believe that there is a divine spark, or infinite space within us. And that there is a protective fence guiding us from falling into the dark abyss of whatever scary experience we might have to walk through.

Sometimes the fright, and sheer lonely feeling of a major life change sends us reeling off that cliff as if we are about to fall with no safety net. Every loss of a loved one has made me feel that way. Like there is no surety in life.

You may think the loss of a family member, a pet, or a job is like jumping into a vast expanse without a parachute to catch you. How will you find your way out? The depth of the pain of loss can seem to encompass your entire being. But I ask you to consider this: you are NOT alone; there is that fence, that protective edge that keeps you safe from drowning, or falling into FEAR. And also this life is guaranteed to change. Whatever pain you are experiencing now, whatever fear keeps you up at night will leave you. One day that new job will be your everyday life. One day the devastation of whatever major change that has uprooted your life will reorder itself. It starts with you! Believe that just as there are vast creations on this Earth that we can marvel at, we can marvel also at the love within us to guide us to a safer place.

“Obstacles are a function of how we flow with energy.”

Judith Orloff M.D.  The Ecstasy of Surrender

How does one overcome the obstacles of not living a life that is the one they would opt for by design? How would accessing our innate ability for intuition and using our sixth-sense lead us to creating a life by our own choice?

By tuning in to a higher frequency. By truly listening to the spiritual side of life that flows through us, around us, and to us every day.

I believe that we are all born with the gift of intuition, but most of us choose to ignore it on some level because Intuition or the perceptions we receive when we access our sixth-sense are our most inner-most truths. We often live a life mired in some sort of denial about the action steps necessary to reach for the part of ourselves that already knows the answer. Have you ever been doing something mindless, an activity that requires no real specific thoughts, say walking, or doing yoga, or just sitting quietly?

Your hands touch the yoga mat, your body stretches into the downward dog pose, and suddenly an answer you have been muddling over in your mind comes to you out of “the blue.” That is how my intuition first started really reaching my everyday consciousness. It would be something as simple as, “you need to make a call to so and so.” Or “mail that bill on Friday.” Other types of intuitive moments happened with increasing frequency as I learned to “trust my own vibes,” and listen not only to my thoughts about something, but to my bodies reaction to a person, place, or thing. The obvious example that comes to mind is when someone tries to sell you something. This is a time to pay particular attention to how all of you feels in reaction to what this person is telling you that you can’t live without! People who “sell” for a living have an uncanny way of making you feel like you are getting something for nothing. Or this offer is going away quickly, so you must ACT now. My Dad used to say, “if it sounds too good to be true, generally it is.” Again trust, trust, trust your own internal voice.

Four years ago I had precognitive visions that were very specific of doing the kind of work I am doing right now. I held a friend’s hand, and said I am going to give you a reading. I know just what you should do. She laughed and said you mean you can do that. My inner self knew that I could, but I also knew that I wasn’t ready yet. It had only just begun. But when I thought about what that might mean… body was mired in “Goosebumps.” I knew on some level that I indeed might be doing this one day. That it was there somewhere lurking in me ready to emerge when I was ready. What was I afraid of?

I was afraid of what people would think. It has taken me a long time, and a lot of development work to get to that point where I have left behind the luggage of “will people think I’m crazy,” to be able to communicate with God/ Spirit and give them insight into their own lives and problems. My own happiness is the prize. I could no longer not access it, it bubbled to the surface and now has morphed me into my true-whole-self. I only wish I could have realized at a much younger age that it was okay to be this way.

Intuition guides us if we could only but listen. It gives us information about everything, every choice we need to make, who to marry, who to date, where to live, and who to connect with. Have you ever met someone new and got an awful vibe but went against that gut feeling and listened to this person’s guidance or direction even though it did not fit for your life? Always listen to that feeling. It is the God-spark within that is guiding you, directing you to make the highest and best decisions that will not only make you happy and prosper, but also avert danger and misguided decisions.

I have been reading The Mastery of Love by Don Miguel Ruis and I am going to quote a paragraph from that book. He is also the author of The Four Agreements, a book read over and over by many.

“You are alive because of the power of God, which is the power of Life, but because you are not able to think at the level of the mind, you forget what you really are.” “God has just come to tell you—–to tell the God in you—-to be aware, to make a choice, to have the courage to work through all your fears and change them, so you are no longer afraid of Love.”

There are times that we just want to hide under the covers, shrink from our lives, and have a huge “pity-party.” Poor little me. I did not get the great love of my life. I have not found a soul connection. I am alone. No one loves me. I am not pretty enough. I am not skinny enough. I am not rich enough. I am not smart enough. What is wrong with me…..why dd this happen to me. And when will things change.

“Comparison is the thief of happiness!” Somebody said that. I don’t know who, but I only know it to be one of the truest statements that addresses that defeated feeling we all have or have had when it seems like everybody else has it all going on. What about me? What about the unfairness of it all. I just heard this statement this past week: “I must have been a real awful person in my last life.” In other words my life sucks, I have no love, and it must be fate.

In my belief system, “we make our own happiness or unhappiness.” So holding to that statement if you are in a pity-party with yourself, what could you do to bring love into your life and gain the feeling that you are so desparately seeking? There is only one way I have found. By giving it out. Start with yourself. Be compassionate with your deficits. Be allowing of imperfection. Be willing to look in the mirror and love that beauty staring back at YOU. See love around you. Write some positive affirmations and quotes and paste them all around. Remind yourself daily of how special and valuable you are to one other person. If you were not to show up for your life today…..who would miss you? I bet there is more of a list there then you might believe. Even if it is your cat or dog, a sister, friend, co-worker. You are a star that lights up someones day. Just for today, hold fast to that belief. Love yourself, and then go out and shine a bit brighter. I promise you someone will notice and feel all the better because of it.

Arise tomorrow and do it again. Look at the Sun in the morning. It rose again. Look at the moon and stars at night. They are still shining brightly. Take it one day, and then the next. Pray for a more abundant life, and be willing to let go of the baggage of the PAST.

Pet Poem By: Gary Smith

I stood by your bed last night, I came to have a peep.
I could see that you were crying, You found it hard to sleep.
I whined to you softly as you brushed away a tear,
“It’s me, I haven’t left you, I’m well, I’m fine, I’m here.”

I was close to you at breakfast, I watched you pour the tea,
You were thinking of the many times, your hands reached down to me.
I was with you at the shops today, Your arms were getting sore.
I longed to take your parcels, I wish I could do more.

I was with you at my grave today, You tend it with such care.
I want to re-assure you, that I’m not lying there.
I walked with you towards the house, as you fumbled for your key.

I gently put my paw on you, I smiled and said “it’s me”.

You looked so very tired, and sank into a chair.
I tried so hard to let you know, that I was standing there.
It’s possible for me, to be so near you everyday.
To say to you with certainty, “I never went away.”
You sat there very quietly, then smiled, I think you knew…
In the stillness of that evening, I was very close to you.

The day is over… I smile and watch you yawning
and say “good-night, God bless, I’ll see you in the morning.”
And when the time is right for you to cross the brief divide,
I’ll rush across to greet you and we’ll stand, side by side.
I have so many things to show you, there is so much for you to see.

Be patient, live your journey out…then come home to be with me….

I am a pet-lover, always have been since I was a little girl. Animals especially dogs and cats are so easy to love. They ask so little in return, just food, water, and loving kindness. And in return they give an infinite amount of unconditional love. I know most of you have an animal or two, and cherish the relationship you have with that animal. Our beloved Golden Retriever named Buddy is leaving us. It seems that just a couple of weeks ago he was his happy-go-lucky self. We had few indications that anything was wrong. I brought him to the Vet on Monday and sadly he was filled with Cancer. In just this week he has declined to the point of hardly being able to walk, and not eating. So we will be saying our goodbyes to our faithful friend. But because I believe so strongly in a spiritual after-life I believe that this GREAT friend of ours will continue to walk along side us until it is our turn to cross that bridge.

I think I first heard these words right after the “Great Recession.” It might have been a T.D. Jakes talk with Oprah on OWN channel. I can’t quite remember. The important thing is this: if you have had a setback in your life you may have some scar tissue hanging on. There might be bitter embers of regret, anger at “the system,” the banks, a failed marriage……we all know the list that goes on, never mind the list of wrongs that never leaves our head. “Shoulda…….woulda……coulda!” If only we had put more money into a safe fund! If only we had not met the cheating b&%#@ in the first place, if only we had not left a job, or been let go of a job we thought we might have til retirement.

In THE MAGIC PATH OF INTUITION that was written many years ago by Florence Scovel Shinn, Shinn gives some of the original “secrets,” to asking Divine Intelligence/God for what you need or want. The manuscript was written in 1936 and has been repeated over and over in many books written by New Age authors such as “The Secret,” and more. If you are praying for more money to come into your life, or an improvement in your financial situation Florence Shinn advises a change not only in your attitude but in the specific language that you use to manifest more of what you need into your life.

We are accustomed to thinking of making money by having a better job, or driving money to us by sheer effort and will power. What if it were so much simpler than that. What if we could pray for an increase in funds all the while trusting that it might manifest in a myriad of ways. I’m not saying that you don’t have to work for what you need. Not at all, just that through meditating and making your request known to God/Spirit you lay your troubles and worry thoughts literally at the feet of a higher source. Money comes through to us in many ways. It could be a new job, or an unexpected check from money owed, an opportunity not thought of….the list goes on.

“The material attitude toward money is to trust in your salary, your income, and your investments, which can shrink overnight. The spiritual attitude is to trust in God for your supply-to keep your possessions, and always realize they are God-in-Manifestation. If one door closes, immediately, another door opens.”

Shinn suggests this Affirmation: God is my supply; and big, happy financial surprises now come to me.

I know this is hard. Believe me. I have had up times and down times when it comes to money. But when I ask in genuine sincerity for an increase for us and our loved ones, and ask that it be like a beacon to shine a light on what faith can do, it is amazing what happens as a result. No, I have yet to win the lottery. But I try to embrace the feeling of “richness,” in so many other ways. So I keep that little saying in my checkbook, and have for years: “A setback is a setup for a comeback.”

So if you are stressing about how more money is going to come to you, imagine that it is already on its way, perhaps in a new opportunity you may never have dreamed of. Imagine it coming right on time in the specific amount that you need. See an image of your wallet filled with cash. And listen to your inner guidance… is there a message there telling you something specific? A habit to change. A person to call. Something to recheck, or a new job board to look at. Go to your inner quiet place and listen with your spiritual ear, see if there is a direction signal waiting there, telling you specifically where you need to go. If it feels right in your gut, follow that hunch!

“She could never go back and make some of the details pretty. All she could do was move forward and make the whole beautiful.” —Terri St. Cloud

How can developing our intuition give us more self-compassion for dealing with the day-to-day struggles we experience by the nature of our human experience? Intuition is a sense of knowing. Intuition is the ability to understand something immediately, with the need for conscious reasoning. It isa thing that one knows or considers likely from instinctive feeling rather than conscious reasoning. According to Psychology Today we think of intuition as a magical phenomenon, but hunches are formed out of our past experiences and knowledge.

As an Intuitive/ Medium I have developed an increase in intuition through meditation, mindful-walking and being lucky enough to have the time to get really quiet with myself. Though I have always had this innate ability I did not always recognize it when I was busy raising children, and working full-time. The hectic pace of life really tore away my senses and left me in reactive mode most of the time. So to my mind this is where self-compassion comes in.

How can we develop more self-compassion towards ourselves when we don’t have much time to listen to ourselves and follow the best and highest knowledge that comes from a deeply spiritual place within ourselves.

You don’t have to wait until middle-age like I did to find time. As I have come to find, and you can too, it really only takes a bit of time at the beginning or end of the day to tune in to your higher source consciousness within.

Turn off outside distractions to the best of your ability. And with some deep breaths, allow yourself to get really quiet. Acknowledge there might be mind-chatter, and bid it goodbye. Imagine a place that you prefer and see yourself there. Ask for guidance. Give yourself a brief holiday from worry thoughts, and listen to any answers that pop to the surface. What comes through is your intuitive voice. This may take time to develop. The more you practice, the clearer the inner voice becomes.

Just a Woman?

By Maya Angelou

Excerpt from: And Still I Rise

You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may tread me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I’ll rise.

Does my sassiness upset you?
Why are you beset with gloom?
‘Cause I walk like I’ve got oil wells
Pumping in my living room.

Just like moons and like suns,
With the certainty of tides,
Just like hopes springing high,
Still I’ll rise.

Did you want to see me broken?
Bowed head and lowered eyes?
Shoulders falling down like teardrops.
Weakened by my soulful cries.

Does my haughtiness offend you?
Don’t you take it awful hard
‘Cause I laugh like I’ve got gold mines
Diggin’ in my own back yard.

And still I rise.

In honor of a great poet

“On December 1, 1955 Rosa Parks a 42 year old African-American woman who worked as a seamstress, boarded the Montgomery City bus to go home from work. On this bus on that day; Rosa Parks initiated a new era in the American quest for freedom and equality. What did she do that was so extraordinary? I think she did not set out to be named in a civil rights movement though she was a member of the NAACP.  I believe on this day she was tired, damned tired after working all day, and simply refused to give up a refuge she had found, namely a seat to sit in. She was arrested that day. And through that one simple act of defiance set a spark in motion with Martin Luther King’s movement to initiate a boycott of the Montgomery City Bus System. They were then able to desegregate the Montgomery, Alabama City buses.

I do not think Ms. Parks wanted limelight or public attention. I think she simply wanted to sit anywhere she wanted to. The first available seat, for a hard-working woman with tired feet. She was one of many in the Civil Rights’ movement who found some small seed of courage to defy a system of intolerance and cruelty. Where did she find that courage? I could give you a list of brave women who have cooked too many meals to count, raised babies, cleaned house, and then went out to do another job, working round the clock 24/7. What makes someone finally want something different?

Oprah Winfrey came from a family of poverty, a family of cotton-pickers in the rural South. What made her rise up and want a different life? Who, or what or why did she think there was something more out there for her? I remember reading in one of her bio stories, that she saw the life she was raised in, but always knew, like a sense of inner-knowing or intuition that she was going to be so much more one day.

How did she know, and what gave her the courage to rise up, put herself through school, and keep trying when so few women in the 60’s did? I believe there is a God-spark in all of us waiting to manifest itself into the highest imagining. I believe we don’t have to settle for less. I believe women who follow their hearts, and their inner calling are hero’s we need more of today. There comes a day when you find that determination to push back just a bit at first against the oppressor or the injustice.

I myself a woman who by worldly standards has not found merits of worldly degrees or accomplishments have continually prevailed when many thought I had failed. What spurred me on? What gave me that determination to counter all odds and not give up, not give in, but to keep on pressing for equality in my person, my sex, and my relationships, and my work-life? When someone would ask what I did, I would meekly say I am just a mother. Just a housewife, or just a mental health worker. I asked a woman just yesterday as I shopped in a beautiful mystical shop, “Are you the owner?”

“No, I am just a worker.” “I just work here she said. No one special.”

I countered that statement.”  I believe you are more than just a worker. I believe you are someone special.”

I was once told by a medium that I am like the person that has nine lives. I keep coming back. When it looks as though I’m down for the count, I come back full-swing rising to new heights. So I believe anything is possible. Because I myself have suffered many painful losses, indignities, and inequality at its best, and kept bouncing back to full speed. You can too. But it takes a wicked determination to beat low-self-esteem, and listening to your dream. You can give me every excuse in the book of why it’s not possible to go where you want to, whether it is to step out of a bad marriage, or to find a better paying job, stand up for yourself when someone verbally beats you down. Excuses don’t drive the engine that pull you forward. Courage does. Be willing to map out that treasure, and write down the steps needed and find that Starting place.

So who will you listen to? Where will you find the courage to stand alone when no one supports your choices? Are you willing to listen to that inner knowing like Oprah Winfrey and Rosa Parks, and Maya Angelou found? Or are you waiting for someone to give you permission to take the next step, make the next phone call?   Are you sitting back comparing yourself to others who have got it going on, but feel like you could never be one of them? Why? And isn’t about time that you stepped up, stepped out of your comfort zone? Whether it’s sitting where you want, or finding your voice to perform, act, write, paint, or go back to school. I believe you can do it! I believe the spark of God is with you, in youurging you on.

“And still I rise!”

eople have asked me what it means to come visit and Intuitive. What happens? How does this benefit me?

So let me explain in more detail what it is I do:

I am an Intuitive in that I have the gift of clairvoyance, and clairaudience. I also sense things about who you are, and what might be happening with you on a soul level. I see pictures in my mind’s eye. This is called clairvoyance. The pictures are like clues that reveal something that is happening in your life. And I see, sense, or feel the energy of real people that have crossed over, as a Medium. I do not use tarot cards, or any type of cards. I do ask to hold a ring or special object that you wear often, as it does carry with it your auric impressions. Together we say a prayer of our intention to connect with what I call God, you may call your higher power. We ask for only the highest and the best. I ask to tap into the higher side of life. I do ask Spirit not to show me anything dark. I give you impressions I receive and together we follow the clues, images, and words, I receive to make sense of what has happened in the past, what you are experiencing right now, and what may be coming in the future.

This is not an exact science. The best reading happens when you allow yourself to be OPEN to spiritual energy so that I can pick up what is going on with you on a soul level. It is sometimes called soul-sensing.

After giving many readings over the last two years I can tell you without reservation that the benefit to this exchange is a healing and acknowledgement of things in life you may be struggling with. There is a true healing that takes place when you realize your loved one is never gone, you are never alone, and that life does go on. When you receive acknowledgement  or information about a decision you are facing it takes the struggle and turns it around. You may gain new insight as to why you feel the way you do about a relationship, your job, or an emptiness that you may have.

Many of you are quite intuitive yourselves and may be just starting to experience an opening to learn more about Spirituality. So be willing to explore a different way to look at the world and your place in it.
